Sylvia Andersons CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Sylvia Andersons joined the SA team in 2010, bringing significant leadership and business management skills gained in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, wine industry and FMCG.
Having built a career in sales and marketing, she has developed business plans and delivered consistent revenue growth in challenging industries. Her public relations experience was enhanced through news reading and radio announcing in community radio and television.
With a Bachelor of Science and Honours in Immunology Sylvia completed her MBA at UniSA in 2002.
Sylvia has two teenage children, and her husband Valdis works as Communications Coordinator for the SA District of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
Having always had a passion for helping children in need, Sylvia says she is thrilled at the opportunity to be involved with the dynamic Tent 75.

Jane Coldbeck EVENTS MANAGER
Jane joined Variety SA in January 1991 as Administration Secretary and in September that year began working on the Bash. As the Events Manager she works with the Event Co-ordinators on the Bash, 4WD Challenge, V2 Classic together with other Variety events and functions. During her eighteen years with Variety, her two children Anna and Greg have grown up and married and she is now the delighted Nana of her first grandchild Lachlan.
Other interests, well she says there really isn’t a lot of time for those! |
Simone Hawkins MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
| Starting in the role of Marketing and Communications Manager in June 2010, Simone has previously worked in Marketing, PR and Publicity in the Arts industry as well as having worked for a PR, Publicity and Marketing consultancy where she worked on campaigns for range of clients across the not for profit, retail, arts, education, government and commercial property sectors.
Simone has completed a Bachelor of Arts Media Communication and Culture and a post graduate degree in Communications – Public Relations at the University of South Australia.
Simone looks forward to her new role at Variety, the Children’s Charity and is excited about the opportunity to work for an organisation that helps make a difference to the lives of South Australian children.

Shane Ion FUNDRAISING MANAGER
|
Shane comes to us as having worked in the charitable arena since 1999. He has a diverse work experience including his most recent role as Donor Relations and Bequest Officer for iconic SA charity, Guide Dogs Association of SA and NT Inc. Shane was born in Adelaide in the ‘year of love’ (his words), which means any year in the late 60’s. He is a proud dad to Hugh and Leila.

Ellie Paterson FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
| Ellie comes from a background of chartered accounting and hospitality – two areas not usually combined in a single career! Having spent ten years in Melbourne and Sydney, she returned to Adelaide to open Medina Treasury which has been a highlight of her career thus far. She is very happy & excited to be part of an organization giving back and making a difference to the South Australian community. |

Megan Winter EVENTS COORDINATOR
| Megan joined Variety in June 2006 having come from Kelly & Co and Griffin Hilditch Lawyers as a legal secretary. Megan was also responsible for the event management of the Kelly & Co annual ball as well as corporate functions. Since commencing with Variety Megan has moved in to the events team assisting with mainly the 4WD Challenge, Bash and V2 Classic. Megan contributes to Variety with her enthusiastic personality, attention to detail, passion for people and desire to be involved in an organisation that makes a difference. |

Liz Humphrys-Glynn EVENTS COORDINATOR
| Liz joined Variety in March 2010 after working as an event coordinator with the Office for Recreation and Sport. She has experience working in events having coordinated the SA Water Vacswim Program since September 2008. This involved engaging sites statewide to conduct the event aimed at school aged children. Liz is thrilled to be a part of the Variety team and to be working for such a good cause. She enjoys the challenging and fast paced nature of working in events and looks forward to continuing this with the Variety events team and everyone involved. |

Kate Hendrie EVENTS COORDINATOR
| Kate has come from a background of working in the Leisure and Event Management industry. The last five years she has been working as the Event Coordinator and Event Manager with LeisureCo, a recreation facility provider. Kate’s responsibilities involved coordinating and managing, Vacswim a statewide, government funded Swimming Program for school aged children. She is excited about joining the Variety team and is looking forward to meeting everyone involved. |
Annie Mates ADMINISTRATION & EVENTS ASSISTANT
After growing up in the Barossa & Gawler area, Annie moved to Adelaide in 2000. Annie joined Variety in May 2010 after having spent 27 years in the wine industry, working for companies such as Yaldara, Kingston, Nepenthe Wines & Chace Wine Distribution.
Although she still loves a glass of wine, Annie decided it was time for a change, and time to do something 'with a real purpose'. Annie is looking forward to getting to know all of the people associated with Variety, and helping in her own way to make a difference. |
Monique Porter COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR (PT)
| Monique started her work with Variety SA in May 2006 as the Marketing and Events Coordinator. The arrival of little Eliza in May 2007 saw her take a short break and then come back in a part-time capacity. After the birth of her second daughter Zara in December 2009, Monique now works casually as the Communications Coordinator. |
