Variety, the children's charity is dedicated to transforming the lives of children with special needs. We help kids from birth up to 18 years of age that may be sick, physically or intellectually disabled, may live in isolated areas or come from a disadvantaged background. We want to make the world a better place for all these children. Australia might be the lucky country but if you are a kid in a wheelchair then life can be pretty tough. Did you know that families can wait for up to two years to receive a government funded wheelchair?

Imagine - for the child waiting for the wheelchair, this would feel like a lifetime. Variety helps hundreds of kids each year gain mobility and thereby, their freedom, independence and the chance to join in with other kids in the community. Variety provides funding for wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. Wheelchairs cost from $1000 for a standard chair and up to $20,000 for a fully motorised wheelchair. Seating systems are individually designed to cater for the condition of each child, ensuring there is room for them to grow and that their posture and health is protected.

In 2009 Variety the children's charity SA granted 90 appeals to organisations and individuals through the Freedom Program to the value of $1.15 million
