What is YVariety?

yv bingo 2.jpgYVariety (Young Variety) is a young professionals networking group for 18-40 year olds with a purpose to not only raise funds for Variety but to assist our members in developing professionally, personally and philanthropically. We engage our members in challenging and quirky fundraising functions and events while providing opportunities for them to engage and interact directly with our beneficiaries and working with disadvantaged youth.

In order to differentiate YVariety from that of our peers and indeed, from the work of other Variety SA sub-committees, YVariety focuses energies on disadvantaged youth as the main beneficiaries of our fundraising activities.

If you would like to get involved in YVariety give us a call on 8293 8744 or simply complete the membership form to the right.

YV Movie Night ' An Ugly Truth'

YVariety held it's first movie night at Piccadilly Cinemas, North Adelaide on Wednesday 6 August. Approximately 200 people joined us to enjoy a pre-movie drink before watching the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth starring the gorgeous Katherine Heigl and the debonair Gerard Butler. The movie appealed to both guys and girls, with many a laugh out loud. Everyone had a great night out and we raised approximately $2,600 for youth at risk. Raffle winnners on the night were Catherine Longford, George Cassar, John Parolin, Emma Lyndon and Catherine Bishop. Congratulations all!

We would like to thank Kensi, Destination for Men, Dare Hair, Manna, Balaklava Cup, Joseph Uzumcu and Adelaide Hatters for their generous raffle prizes.

Rockwiz meets Singing Bee

YVariety held it's second ‘RockWiz meets Singing Bee’ on Friday 26 June 2009. The night was a huge success with over 250 guests and supporters attending. Quizmaster for the night was the very talented Libby O'Donovan. Libby kept the night rolling and charmed the crowd. Once again our Ambassador Cat Southern very ably led the Singing Bee component.

We raised approximately $8,000 net for youth at risk in SA. We would like to thank the outstanding support of the following: Cat Southern and band, Libby O'Donovan, Coca-Cola Amatil for their provision of Peroni beer, Langmeil Barossa wines and Drake Supermarkets. We also thank Adam Internet, La Trattoria Pizzeria, Wellness & Lifestyles Australia, Dare Hair, Fitness 33 and Farina Kitchen and Bar for their prizes and all our guests who we look forward to seeing again next year.
